The Southwind Rail Trail grand opening ceremony was June 8th in Iola, with over 100 people in attendance.

Speakers included trail volunteer Jay Kretzmeier, Clark Coan of the Sunflower Rail Trails Conservancy, Don Becker of the Iola City Council, Dick Works of the Allen County Commission, Sunny Shreeve of the Humboldt City Council, and Elizabeth Stewart of the Sunflower Foundation.
