ELIGIBILITY:
- High school seniors, graduating from an Allen County high school (Iola, Humboldt, Marmaton Valley, or alternative/online/homeschool based in Allen County), or a current Allen County Community College student
- Must be enrolling at a university, college, or technical/trade school as a full-time, undergraduate student for the 2024-2025 academic year
- No GPA requirement
- Direct descendants (a child or grandchild) of a Thrive Executive team member, Board Member, or member of this scholarship committee will NOT be eligible for this scholarship
- We prefer that applicants apply online. If you require a hard copy, a print out of the Google Form can be submitted for consideration, with the preference that answers are typed and attached. Extra hard copies will be available at the Thrive office (9 S Jefferson Ave, Iola, KS 66749) and can be picked up and (completed applications) returned during office hours (M-F, 8:30-12:00p, 1:00-5:00p).
- Applications will be judged primarily on the applicants involvement in extracurricular activities, community service, employment, etc., along with their activism and/or leadership roles within the Allen County community, and other factors of merit.
- Because Thrive believes in and strives for inclusivity and equability in all of its practices, scholarship recipients will be chosen without regard to race, ethnicity, national origin, color, religion, sex (including sexual orientation or gender identity), disability, or any other factors unrelated to merit.
- An acceptance letter and/or proof of full-time enrollment in an undergraduate program at an accredited higher education institution, along with a final high school transcript, will be required from the scholarship recipient only.
- A one-time scholarship payment check in the amount of $1,000, payable to the scholarship recipient, will be mailed directly to the address submitted on the application by the end of August, with the intention of funds being applied towards educational expenses.
- At its discretion, Thrive reserves the right to publish recipient name(s) and/or picture(s), via social media, newspaper, newsletters, and/or other media channels.
