April 17th was the first edition of the Allen County Farmers’ Market for 2014. With chilly temperatures and gray skies, it didn’t feel very spring-like, but there was a nice turnout of vendors and shoppers.
Great to see folks arriving by foot and by bike and by car to shop for fresh food and local products!

Parkers Greenhouse offered fresh greens, flowers, and plants.
The courthouse square also featured a pinwheel garden, sponsored by CASA of the 31st, promoting Pinwheels for Prevention, a program that “seeks to enhance healthy child development and prevent child abuse and neglect through building awareness and advocating for change”.
Here are some of the planned highlights of the Allen County Farmers’ Market 2014 season.
The Allen County Farmers’ Market happens every Thursday from April 17 through October 9th, 5:30-7:00 on the southwest side of the courthouse square in Iola.
