Thrive Hiring Contract Navigators for Open Enrollment

August 24, 2017

Thrive is known as THE go-to place for Navigator assistance.  Our Navigators have helped to reduce Allen County’s uninsured rate from 21% in 2013 to 10% in 2016.  Over four Open Enrollments our Navigators have seen more than 1,000 people, assisting consumers with applications, enrollment into insurance plans and educating them on how to understand and utilize their insurance plans.  Last year’s enrollment period was three months long.  This year the enrollment period has been cut to 6 weeks (November 1–December 15), meaning our Navigators will be seeing roughly the same amount of people in a much shorter time frame.

Thrive will be hiring part-time navigators to help our full-time staff handle the shortened enrollment period, while making sure every consumer who comes to Thrive looking for assistance will be seen.  We will offer competitive pay and a great place to work! There is a 40-hour online training that must be passed, along with a background check by KAMU (Kansas Association for the Medically Underserved) before you become a certified Navigator (you will be paid for your training time, if hired).  We will need people who can predominantly work nights and weekends, but will also look for individuals who can see consumers during normal work hours as well (8:30am–5:00pm).  Qualified candidates are computer literate, internet savvy, empathetic, and have good people skills.  We are looking to hire from September 1–December 31, 2017, with the brunt of work occurring November 1–December 15.
